2018’s approach to makeup is quite minimal. We are going back to natural earthy tones and rosy flush pinks.

Feathery Eyebrows.
Feathery Eyebrows

Not to be confused with the Feathery eyebrow trend of 2017. This look takes the more natural route. With eyebrows being feathered and controlled with clear brow gels. Like this product from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

I have put together a daytime look for anyone looking to take on some of their favourite trends.

First off, let’s begin with the base. If you have been following beauty bloggers and You tubers beauty influence-rs, you would know that a good makeup look starts with a good base. A good base sets the tone for the rest of the makeup look to build upon.

For the natural everyday look in 2018, we begin with a base. As we are seeing in fashion magazines and websites we are seeing an even more minimal approach to the day make up look.

Always begin with a good primer like this one from Benefit Cosmetics, and is a staple product in most beauty regimes.

The primer minimizes the appearance of pores and skin imperfections and prepares the skin for the next step which is a colour balancing tinted moisturizer like this one from Joile.

This will even out skin tone, protect the skin from sun damage with SPF 15, moisturize which will leave your skin with a clean dewy finish. At this stage we can add a light translucence powder just to set the base if you like, or you could skip this step. My all-time favourite powder is by Laura Mercier.

This ultra-fine translucent powder is one of the most popular powder products on the market today.

For brows, we are going to lightly fill in areas that are sparse with a product from Anastasia Beverly Hills called Dipbrow pomade. Try to choose a colour a little lighter than your natural colour.

For eyeshadow take your favourite shadow palette with earthy tones like this one which I use on a daily basis by Jaclyn Hill.

Sweep the lid with a light muted tone like a taupe or a peach and place a touch of the lightest colour just under the arch of the brow.

Last, let’s take a water tint to finish this look

This look will take you from day to night. To enhance it for a more night look just deepen the crease of your eye with a rich deep to medium brown, lash on more mascara and you will be set for the evening.
